Jimbo - A714110 - American Pit Bull Terrier
Jimbo is a 3 year old American Pit Bull Terrier. He has been at the Animal Care & Control Center in NYC since 6/17/07.
Jimbo is deathly sick, poor baby. He just stood there, but when one staff member in particular came to see him, he perked up. He loved being around him and nestled between his legs. It was beautiful to watch and I was happy to leave there knowing Jimbo was in loving hands.

Cinnamon - A713770 - American Pit Bull Terrier
Cinnamon is a 5 year old American Pit Bull Terrier. She has been at the Animal Care & Control Center in NYC since 6/15/07.
Cinnamon has a little cold and looks as if she has been starved, but she still has the energy to play. She doesn't take anything from other dogs either. We were walking and all of them were parking at her. She just ran by at first, but I guess she was getting annoyed because she started to bark back. When she barked in this one dogs face, he backed down. I guess "all bark and no bite" goes for dogs too :)
Cinnamon is a great dog and walks well on the leash when prodded a little. All you need to do is let her know what you want from her and she falls in line.

YaYa - A713519 - Pit Bull
YaYa is a 6 month old pit bull. She has been at the Animal Care & Control Center in NYC since 6/13/07.
YaYa was seized from her owners, they were arrested. Now she finds herself at the kennel. She is amazing. She loves to play tug-o-war but she's not aggressive. She pulls gently. It may be because she's still a pup, not sure. She loves to play and kiss. She's a pleasure to be around. She does pull the leash a bit, but she's still young.

Betty - A715124 - Pit Bull
Betty is a 1 year old pit bull. She has been at the Animal Care & Control Center in NYC since 6/23/07.
Betty is such a cutey. She loves other dogs and wants to play. She totally ignored me while there were other dogs around. That's okay, I won't take it personally :) But she did listen to me when I asked her to follow and does like to cuddle, once all dogs have left the vicinity :)

Scott - A715020 - Pit Bull
Scott is a 6 year old pit bull. He has been at the Animal Care & Control Center in NYC since 6/23/07.
Scott is a strong dog. He knows how to sit but loves to take control. He pulls while walking. It took me a while to get him under control but he still managed to take the lead :) Scott loves to play and kiss.
His owners left him behind, they're moving out of town :(

Bella - A714925 - Pit Bull
Bella is a 5 month old pit bull and she has been at the Animal Care & Control Center in NYC since 6/22/07.
Bella is a true sweetheart. She has a hole at the top of her head and a bum back leg. Whoever did this to her is a total idiot and they are missing out a wonderful companion. Bella walks very easy on the leash. She loves to play and cuddle. It is amazing that she still finds it in her heart to love us humans.
Bella is a dream and would make an excellent companion.

Beauty - A712640 - Pit Bull Mix - RIP
Beauty (aka Unknown - I named him Beauty - all dogs deserve a name) is a 3 year old pit bull mix. He was at the Animal Care & Control Center in NYC since 6/7/07.
Beauty was originally brought into a precinct by 2 kids. He was obviously in a fight. He had bite marks all over.
Beauty stole my heart, as most pits do. I went by his cage outside and he was lying there curled up in a ball, so sick... When I came to his cage, he slowly walked up to me and sniffed, he then returned to his spot to lie down. Clearly he was not feeling well and was coughing and heaving.
I decided to open up the cage and go in there with him. I slowly approached and then pet his head. He laid there. I then put my hands under his neck and massaged him. He came closer. I took my other hand and massaged his back. He nestled on my arm. I kissed his forehead. I spent a while with him, I lost track of time. My intentions were clear, HEAL, FEEL BETTER, YOU ARE AMAZING!!!! After a while, he began to slowly approach my face, sniffed and licked me. To me, it was a chester of thanks. Soon, my Beauty started to stand up. Yeah!!! He then became curious... Hooray!!! He then wanted to come out.. Yippie!! I took him out and walked him, he pooped :) He then walked back to his cage and stood standing up. I was so proud of him. Dogs take in energy so easily.
It is such a shame that Beauty was scheduled to be euthed today. As I write this he is probably already in a better place.
I love ya Beauty... You will never, ever be forgotten. A piece of my heart went with you. Rest in Peace my love!
Chance - A714298 - American Pit Bull Terrier
Chance is a 6 year old American Pit Bull Terrier. He has been at the Animal Care & Control Center in NYC since 6/19/07. He was surrendered by his owners, they said they can't care for him any longer....
Chance is amazing! He was whining a little in his cage so I took him out. Most of the time I had him out, he had his nose in the ground :) He wasn't too interested in me. Oh, be still my heart !!!! ha, ha!!!
It was extremely difficult to get him back in the cage. I went in, he came out... We played this came for a while. I told him to sit while in his cage, and he did, but as I started to close the cage he would inch up. At one point he laid down with only his head sticking out the cage so that I couldn't close the gate on his head. He's so clever. I just sat with him and tried to console him. Eventually, I had to ask the staff to help me. Of course, it only took them 2 seconds to get him in. You see, the difference is, I ASKED Chance to go inside. He said "No." The staff member TOLD him to go inside and Chance had no choice. I have to learn to just tell them, but....

Play Boy is such a beauty. He is a petite pittie! He loves to jump on the benches when walking. He was getting in some much needed exercise. He was in pure joy being outside. It felt like he was hopping! He loves to kiss, so get ready for some pure pit lovin', the kind only a pit can give, ha, ha!!

Daisy Mae - A714236 - Pit Bull Mix
Daisy Mae is a 4 year old pit bull mix. She has been at the Animal Care & Control Center in NYC since 6/18/07.
Daisy Mae is a great dog. She is extremely active. She has a lot of bent up energy that she needs to release. The girl in the photo is a volunteer. Kudos to her for taking these dogs out today. And I was in heaven because I could take pics and enjoy the dogs even more... and..... I got a lot of hugs and kisses too. She came over to me and cuddled with me so I was enjoying myself. She greets everyone with a smile.

Hercules is a 2 year and 6 month old American Staffordshire Terrier. He has been at the Animal Care & Control Center in NYC since 6/18/07. He was surrendered by his owners. They owned him for 1 year and now have no time for him..... pisses me off to say the least....!!!!
Hercules is a true lover boy! He loves, and I means loves, to kiss and hug :) He is very playful and energetic. There were some volunteers and shelter staff taking out the dogs today. The girl in the photo is one of them. I love seeing others there, it makes me feel good to know there are other people out there spending their time with these adorable and loving dogs. I also like it because I can play with them and not worry about holding the leash :) ha, ha!
