Help Prevent Surrenders to AC&C of New York City! Volunteer w/ the Safety Net Program!

Want to Help Prevent Surrenders of Animals to Animal Care and Control?

Want to be a Pet Problem Solver and Help Animals
Stay with their Families?

VOLUNTEER WITH THE SAFETY NET PROGRAM!

Animal Care & Control of New York City's (AC&C) innovative Safety Net Program offers guidance, services, and solutions to people who are having problems keeping their pet. The goal of the program is to help keep the pet with their family.

These services include low cost vets, low cost boarding, free behavioral training and counseling, lending of supplies, and free tenant representation in court. These and other remedies have enabled many people to keep their pets and helped the finders of stray animals to keep or help find the homeless animal a loving home.

We seek volunteers to help staff our help line! A 3 hour shift, once per week. Volunteers will be trained to respond to calls from people considering surrendering their pet and offer our services to them. We also seek volunteers to be on site at the shelters to consult with people who bring in their pets.

Weekend, weekday, and evening shifts available.

Helpline volunteer work will take place at the AC&C Administrative Office at
11 Park Place, downtown Manhattan.

On-site shelter work will take place at Manhattan, Brooklyn or Staten Isalnd shelters (and eventually the Queens and Bronx shelters)

Be Part Of An Innovative Program That Reduces The
Number Of Homeless Animals and Educates the Public!
