Max - A706131 - Pit Bull

I met Max very briefly. I was about to take him for a walk when a young woman came by and said she was adopting him. Of course, I jumped for joy and thanked her profusely. Two adoptions in one day. That's amazing for me!!!!!

Lenex Lews - A706169 - Pit Bull

Lenex Lews is a 1 year old pit bull. He has been at the Animal Care & Control Center in NYC since 4/27/07.

Lenex Lews is a wonderful dog. He is a strong dog and needs some leash control. He pulls and pulls. He loves to greet people and other dogs. He is still young, so he can be easily trained to walk by your side. He loves to be hugged and kissed and returns the love. He also likes to keep on the move, so be prepared to walk, and walk, and run and walk and run and run :)

Star - A706047 - Pit Bull

Star is a 1 year old pit bull mix. She has been at the Animal Care & Control Center in NYC since 4/27/07.

Star is a wonderful dog. Aren't they all? Her owners gave her up because of the landlord. NEWS BULLETIN: Please ask Landlord before bringing home dog!!!!

Anyway.....

Star is a charm. She loves to take treats, give kisses, and enjoys lots of hugs and body rubs. She walks well on a leash and is good with other dogs.

Star is looking for her forever home and wants me to tell you to please check with your landlord before adopting her. She doesn't want to go back to the shelter after experiencing family life again :)

Cash - A705872 - American Pit Bull Terrier

Cash is a 4 year old American Pit Bull Terrier. She has been at the Animal Care & Control Center in NYC since 4/26/07.

Cash's owners gave her up because they no longer could care for her. Not sure what that means..... I'll let it go.....

Cash was a delight to walk. She walked easily by my side without much prodding. She loves, and I mean loves, to take treats. She sits when asked and gets a little anxious if you don't give her the treat right away. She'll get up, walk a few steps and sit back down and wait for her treat. She'll repeat the process if she has to keep waiting :-D

Snoopy - A678297 - American Staffordshire Terrier

Snoopy is a 1 year and 2 month old American Staffordshire Terrier. He has been at the Animal Care & Control Center in NYC since 4/28/07.

Snoopy's owners gave him up because they said he was too active for an apartment. Did they not do their research? Pit Bulls are very active, energetic dogs. And they can live in an apartment, you just have to take them out and exercise them properly.

Anyway, let's get back to Snoopy.

Snoopy is definitely an energetic dog. We ran up and down the roof many, many, many times and still he wanted to keep going. He loves to chase after a ball and enjoys treats. Snoopy is a great dog. He needs an owner who has the time to give him the proper amount of exercise to keep in well balanced and tired :)

If you are an active, physical individual, Snoopy will be an excellent companion. He can definitely keep up with you :)

Mario - A705102 - American Pit Bull Terrier

Mario is a one year old American Pit Bull Terrier. He has been at the Animal Care & Control Center in NYC since 4/21/07.

Mario is one lucky dog. He was rescued by a wonderful young lady who came today to pick him up. I rarely get the chance to meet the people who adopt these beautiful pit bulls but I have to say, today I was the lucky one.

Mario is a wonderful dog. He sits when told to and walks well on the leash. I enjoyed my time with him today and am so happy he found a forever home.

Minnie - A705891 - Pit Bull

Minnie is a 4 month old pit bull mix. She has been at the Animal Care & Control Center in NYC since 4/26/07.

Minnie is such a playful little pup. She loves to run and jump. She loves to greet people with a kiss, enjoys playing with other dogs and is an overall pleasure to be with.

Her owners gave her up because they said they didn't have any time for her. Why adopt in the first place, you didn't know this before???? Poor excuse!

Minnie is looking for an owner who has time to play with her, can exercise her every day and give her lots of kisses.

Ranaqua - Pit Bull Mix

Unfortunately, I do not have information on this beauty. When I went to write up her info she wasn't there. I don't even want to know what happened. I stopped asking for obvious reasons.

Ranaqua was a pleasure though. She pulled alot and just wanted to run, so that's what I did, I ran back and forth with her. We managed to tire each other out and then hung out in the shade.

It was extremely difficult to get her back in the cage. She a sly little one. I would get her in the cage, and soon enough, she would turn around and jet right back out. I tried for about 20 mins and then decided it was time to get a staff member. It took him about 2 seconds :)

Anyway, I'll always remember Ranaqua. She was amazing :)

Lady - A704443 - Pit Bull

Lady is a 1 year old pit bull mix. She has been at the Animal Care & Control Center in NYC since 4/16/07.

Lady was extremely shy in her cage. She squashed herself all the way in the back and was not eager to come out, but, of course, with a little guidance she made it out. Once outside she pulled and pulled. She had this escape mentality. I don't blame her at all. I would probably do the same thing. After a while, though, she calmed down and walked nicely with me. We hung out in the shade and often she would sit in the sun. She's also okay with other dogs as well. Oh, and be prepared to be kissed and kissed and kissed and...... kissed :)

Lady is amazing and would make a great companion.

Anthony - A704380 - Pit Bull Mix

Anthony is a 1 year old pit bull mix. He has been at the Animal Care & Control Center in NYC since 4/16/07.

Anthony was a very calm dog. He walked easily by my side. On occasion, he would resist walking any further, but all I did was give a gentle nudge with the leash, and he proceeded to walk with me.

As you can see from the pics, he enjoyed hanging out by the plant. He even ate a few leaves and then basked in the shade. He was so comfortable under the bench, it was difficult getting him up.

Champ - A705080 - American Staffordshire Terrier

Champ is a 1 year old American Staffordshire Terrier. He has been at the Animal Care & Control Center since 4/21/07.

Champ is truly a champ. Unfortunately, his previous owners were blind to this since they opted to leave in front of the shelter, which is against the law.

Champ is so loving. He is easy to walk and loves to kiss. He is also very calm. We love Champ!!!!!

Sugar - A704745 - Pit Bull

Sugar is a 3 year old pit bull. She has been at the Animal Care & Control Center in NYC since 4/18/07.

Sugar is a wonderful dog to spend time with. She walked right by my side without any hesitation. There was no question about her following me. When I sat to rest, she lay down and rested. Why she chose to lay in the sun, I have no idea :)

Sugar looks like she was bred and beaten. She has a huge amount of scars on her tail, face, and just about every where you can imagine. What a shame how some people choose to treat dogs. If only they realized, it's only a reflection of their fears and insecurities but.......

Sugar is searching for a safe and loving home and deserves to be in an evironment that is abuse-free, but doesn't every dog?

Jewel - A704990 - Pit Bull

Jewel is a 6 month old pit bull mix. She has been had the Animal Care & Control Center in NYC since 4/20/07.

Jewel was a handful. This little beauty loves to play and has an extraordinary amount of energy, even in the 81 degree weather :-D She loves to jump, and her favorite game is tug o' war. She always went for the leash, so in order for me to distract her from the leash, I gave her a toy. She pulled on the toy, but when I went for the leash, she'd drop the toy and go for the leash. She wanted both :)

Jewel would make a great companion for someone who is active and has the energy level to match hers.
